In the Tango Escenario category, each couple will compete individually, dancing a tango of their choice. Recordings must not exceed four (4) minutes and must be submitted to the Committee in digital format (mp3 and flash drive) during the Accreditation process.
Each couple will only dance one dance at each stage. Tango de Pista couples will be divided into several rounds, depending on the number of participants. In the Stage Tango category, each couple will compete individually.

All jury decisions are final and subject to sole jurisdiction. Participants, simply by registering, accept this status. In the event of any questions or disagreements, interested parties may submit written responses in English to the ORGANIZATION and NOT directly to the evaluation panel.
The score for each performance will be determined by the accumulated points awarded by each judge, using the following scoring parameters for each stage:
Qualifications 5 to 8,
Semifinals 6 to 9, and
Finals 8 to 10.
The final score will be obtained by averaging the scores awarded by the judges. Couples whose average scores are in the top 50% of each stage of the competition will advance to each stage.
The committee may award special prizes and awards for second and third place winners, and reserves the right to award other awards as deemed necessary.
In exceptional cases (power outages, on-stage incidents, etc.), the judges, in conjunction with the supervisor, may determine that contestants will perform an additional tango to ensure fair scoring, without the possibility of contestants refusing.
In the event of a tie for first place in the final round, couples must decide by dancing one (1) or two (2) additional tangos in the Floor Tango category, or by performing their choreography again in the Stage Tango category, until the judges determine a winning pair.
The scores earned by each couple in the competition will be announced after each round. In the event of a tie for second and third place in the Final, the judges will deliberate and decide who will fill each position.

COMPETITION (EVALUATION PARAMETERS).
1. TANGO DE PISTA (FREE, AMATEUR, AND PROFESSIONAL)
Floor Tango is understood as a social dance, with the most important elements being improvisation, embrace, and connection between partners. Couples registered in the Floor Tango category will perform several turns and, as in social dance, must continuously move counterclockwise without turning around.
During these turns, couples must maintain the correct tempo and respect their own space and that of other participants, so as not to disrupt the flow of the dance.
Once formed, couples must not separate while the music is playing. For the position to be considered correct, one partner's body must always be supported by the other partner's embrace, with the understanding that—in some figures—the partner's body may be elastic. All movements and figures must be performed within the space provided by the embrace between partners, so as not to disturb the surrounding couples.
All popular figures in "social" tango can be performed, including barridas, saccadas al piso, enrosques, Lapiz, ganchos, boleos, etc., as well as the use of ornamentation, always within private space and without disturbing or obstructing the space of the surrounding partners.
Jumps, figures where both feet lose contact with the floor, and other typical Stage Tango choreography are completely excluded. The jury will consider, as a key point, each couple's personal interpretation of the different styles. Musicality, movement on the dance floor, style, embraces, communication and connection between partners, and the search for their own personalities will be taken into account, which will change the dynamics and pace of the tango being performed while respecting their interpretation.
Dress will not be a judging criterion, but it is recommended to attend the performance well-groomed. It is important for couples to remember when choosing their attire, hairstyle, and makeup that Tango de Pista is a social dance, not a stage dance.
2. STAGE TANGO (FREE, AMATEUR, AND PROFESSIONAL)
Each couple will perform a solo tango of their choice, with a duration of no more than four (4) minutes. If there are any problems with the choreography, the couple may continue, and the judges will evaluate the resolution, but no repeats may be given. If there are technical problems, the Committee, together with the Judges, will evaluate the repeat of the choreography at the end of the allotted time slot.
Dancers may dance according to their own vision of the Argentine Tango, which means movements, figures, and applications that do not directly refer to traditional Tango are permitted. The Judges will consider the following aspects when judging participants:
- Choreographic composition
- Musicality
- Creativity
Dance: Performance, precision, clarity, and fluidity of movement are evaluated, as well as mastery of techniques specific to the tango style.
Costume. Embraces may be broken, and techniques from other dance disciplines may be used, as long as they are appropriate and enhance the performer's performance. Aerial tricks and other movements from other dance styles should not be excessive, meaning they should not exceed one-third of the total performance.
PRIZES
The ORGANIZATION is NOT obliged to guarantee, by all means necessary, the presence and participation of the winning couple in these stages.
Registration and subsequent accreditation of each pair in this competition implies recognition and acceptance of these rules by each participant.
