Tangonesia
Tangonesia is a cultural platform dedicated to developing tango in Indonesia through international competitions, festivals, and cross-cultural collaborations. Rooted in Indonesia and connected to the global tango community, Tangonesia brings together artists, dancers, and audiences through curated events that combine competition, education, and artistic exchange. Through initiatives such as Indonesia Championship Preliminaries and Tango in Paradise, Tangonesia creates a space where tango meets culture bridging Argentine tango with Indonesian artistic identity.

Tango Journey
• Began dancing tango in her 50s
• Active figure in Indonesia’s tango scene
Ratih Soe Kosasie found tango later in life and made it her calling. She started organizing tango events in Jakarta in 2009 and has since performed in Brunei, Japan, Shanghai, South Korea, Russia, and Dubai.
In 2012, she founded Tango in Paradise International in Bali and introduced the “Tango in Kebaya” concept, blending Argentine tango with Indonesian culture. Her work was recognized by MURI in 2023.
Based in Bali, Ratih is also a hotelier. In 2026, she launched the Tangonesia Championship in Jakarta, continuing her mission:
